The Cinema Advertising Association (CAA) has just released April’s admissions tally.
Ticket sales weighed in at a healthy 13,830,360 during the month, bringing the total for January to April 2009 to 55,206,973 – the highest level for this period since 2002 (Figure 1).
2009 admissions are now running at 14% above the total for the first four months of 2008.

In terms of the runners and riders, Monsters vs Aliens topped the chart in April, capitalising on the Easter break, with Fast & Furious in hot pursuit (Table 1).
